Does Your Child Have Crooked Teeth?
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
Dr Gaffey starts with listening to what you want from your child's smile. It is key that you are involved in the process from the beginning. Then we can plan your treatment.
Do you just want to jump to the end of braces and find out how good straight teeth can be? Click on the button below to read over 170 reviews from different patients.
The biggest thing you will find is how much you can save on kids braces with Dr Jack. Our two year payment plans start from $50 per week! Families get a discount when they start their next child to make it even more affordable.
We use a camera that creates a 3D image can of your teen's teeth. This can help us show your child's teeth from every angle. This cutting edge technology will let you see how they will look at the end of your orthodontic journey.
We find it important to communicate the problems through imaging. Sometimes it is very obvious when you can see a misaligned bite on the computer screen.
The scan is fantastic for helping parents visualise where the teeth will end up at the end of treatment.
How Much Do Teen Braces Cost
Dr Jack aims to keep your costs as low as possible. We don't have a huge marketing budget with TV or newspaper campaigns. Our small boutique practice allows us to have one of the lowest prices for braces in Adelaide.
Our Fees can be significantly lower than many other practices. We also include discounts for siblings (having a family can be expensive, we aim to make this a little easier).
If extractions are needed we also provide a significant discount for this as part of the plan.
The good news is that when you leave our practice, you will have the entire cost of treatment without any add ons.

Age 12 to 16 is the most common time to start braces treatment and other Teen Orthodontics
Orthodontic treatment is most commonly started between the ages of 12 and 16 because most permanent teeth have erupted into place by this time. Gaps, crowding, and issues with bite and alignment are easily detected by this time. Bone and jaw structure have sufficiently formed to allow orthodontic treatment to begin. Some kids and teens may have already begun Phase I treatment at an earlier age, and now may be the time to follow up with full braces or other orthodontic treatment.
When teens are going through the 'quick' part of growth - puberty- it is an optimal time to move the teeth orthodontically. We can help set the bite up for long term success.
This is also the age where many kids and teens develop a heightened awareness of themselves, their appearance, and their relationships with friends. Building self-confidence and balancing individuality with “fitting in” often takes up a large part of your teen’s life during this period of time.
If your teenager has gaps, crooked, or protruding teeth, they may feel self conscious and hide their smile. They may also be very concerned with how they may be perceived and treated by their peers. Confidence and positive self-esteem can help your teen be successful through their education, social and future career goals.
Beyond outward appearance, crooked or crowded teeth or a misaligned jaw can also have lasting impacts on your teenager’s future oral and whole body health.
Why should we straighten our teens teeth?
Teeth that are straight and well-aligned are:
- Less prone to wear, chipping and other trauma
- Easier to keep clean, preventing decay or cavities
- Key to reducing the chances of developing gum disease, which can result in bone loss, decay, and even tooth loss
- Able to help in proper chewing and digestion
- Designed to last for life by properly bearing the stress and wear of chewing
Braces and other orthodontic treatment can not only help your teen feel confident about having a healthy smile, but can also help set them up for success throughout their lives.
